Clayton Services, a staffing provider, is seeking an Accountant for one of our valued clients. We provide staffing professionals to area Houston companies.  This role is vitally important and requires an individual who is motivated, with great attention to detail; someone who can be decisive and is willing to be hands-on in order to get things done. A successful candidate will be a self–starter with the desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment. 

Accountant Responsibilities and Duties:

• Purchase Order creation and processing for operations with approved inventory purchases
• Maintain vendor files, credit applications from new vendors, and daily code vendor invoices 
• Maintain Subcontractor MSA and compliance with COI
• Process manager approved expense reports, monthly CC payments, and voucher all company expenses
• Posting of inventory and equipment costs from “canvas reports” approved by operations
• Match delivery tickets with vendor invoice
• Process weekly payments according to terms with vendors/submit to CEO for review on Mondays
• Collect coded weekly CC charges from operations and sales administrator
• Process recurring payroll payments, i.e. child support
• Review all AP aging to ensure payment terms met
• Monthly reporting and GL Reconciliations
• Annual inventory count from operations physical count
• Review company utilities contracts for price saving
• Coordinate with operations administration on job costs billed to projects
• Ensure company policies and procedures are instituted with all vendors (W9, COI, MSA 45-day terms)
• Posting of equipment maintenance invoices approved by operations to equipment pool

Accountant Skills and Qualifications:

• Resourcefulness and creativity 
• Working knowledge of construction invoicing and close out documents in the construction industry
• Working knowledge of Texas sales tax reporting
• Proficient in A/P
• Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate, prioritize and manage numerous concurrent projects
• Team-player mentality with a results-oriented focus; strong integrity and work ethics
• Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and requirements

Required Experience:

• Three years minimum commercial construction experience related to customer invoicing and industry required documentation
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and ability to work program shortcuts
• Experience with Computer Ease construction software is preferred, technology savvy a must
